Welcome Message from the Summit Co-Chair Kristine Sørensen
It is a great pleasure for the Executive Board of the International Health Literacy
Association to welcome you to the very first Global Health Literacy Summit co–
hosted with E-DA Healthgroup and I-Shou University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
The Global Health Literacy Summit is open to all and it will be an event where the
vibrant health literacy community comes together to present new research,
explore new practices and develop opportunities for new policy strategies that
can enhance health literacy for all. We believe that health literacy is an asset for
individuals, communities, organizations, systems and societies. Recognizing that
health literacy is content and context specific, the Global Health Literacy Summit
will make history by bringing experts, decision-makers, and practitioners together
to explore health literacy in all its multiple dimensions.
The Global Health Literacy Summit provides an opportunity for the interest groups
of the International Health Literacy Association to introduce their work; for
inspirational keynotes to share their views; and for researchers and practitioners
from across the world to present state of the art health literacy research, tools,
methods and approaches. The Global Health Literacy Summit is an event not to be
missed! See you in Taiwan!
The E-DA Healthcare Group is composed of E-DA Hospital, E-DA Cancer Hospital,

development.’ Thus far, the university has had successful performances in
academic research, industry university cooperation and international cooperation.
I-Shou University and E-DA Healthcare Group cooperate together to provide
medical training in the local context and abroad.
