How to use this shelf

The list is deliberately small. Each entry points to an organization or a reference that can open a wider body of work, rather than trying to collect every available document. Where a source is maintained by a public body or a professional association, that source is preferred.

Health literacy is a moving field. Check publication dates, note the context in which a claim was made, and follow the original evidence when a summary is not enough. The summit itself was a conversation, not a final word.

Global frameworks and public health

Starting points for the policy and public health context behind the program.

Associations and networks

Professional communities that connect people working on health literacy and health promotion.

Host institutions and the city

Sources for the organizations and places that hosted the summit.

Wider global context

Additional starting points from the international system that shaped the summit themes.

Summit statements and records

The original summit website carried a number of formal statements and newsletters. Those files are not reproduced here. If you need a specific statement, a program record, or a copy of a past communication, contact the secretariat and the team will tell you what is available.

Visit the contact page to make a request, or read the summit updates page for a chronology of the public milestones.

Suggesting a source

If you know of a high quality, publicly accessible resource that belongs on this shelf, send the details to the secretariat. Suggestions are reviewed for relevance and for the stability of the source.

Inclusion on this shelf does not imply endorsement of every view expressed by a linked organization.
