Who the summit reached

The program was designed to bring together clinicians, public health professionals, scientists, students, professors, researchers, and young activists from around the world. For an organization working in health, education, or communication, that mix offered a rare chance to meet several audiences in one place.

Sponsorship supported the practical work of the summit: the program, the participation of people who might otherwise not be able to attend, and the spaces where informal conversation happens.

Support levels

The committee recognized four levels of support, scaled to the size of the contribution: Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Organizations could also offer services, materials, or support for a social event.

Diamond and Gold

The highest levels of support, intended for organizations making a substantial contribution to the summit.

Silver and Bronze

Entry points for organizations that wanted visible involvement at a smaller scale.

In kind

Services, materials, or expertise offered instead of a direct financial contribution.

Social events

Support for the informal moments where participants meet outside the formal program.

Exhibition notes

Exhibition space at the venue was limited. The committee assigned available space based on the order in which requests were confirmed, so organizations were encouraged to make contact early.

The summit did not permit industry sponsored scientific sessions. This rule protected the independence of the program and kept the scientific content separate from commercial promotion.

After a sponsorship agreement was confirmed, refunds were not permitted. Organizations were asked to review the terms before committing.

Partnership exchanges

The secretariat also considered advertising exchanges with media organizations, websites, blogs, and exhibitions. In an exchange, promotional space could be offered in return for equivalent advertising value. Each proposal was reviewed on its own terms.
